Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, today announced its Franchisee Of The Year award has been won by west of Ireland territory owner, Joe Sweeney, for the third consecutive year.
‘Joe’s hard work, determination and tenacity have paid off yet again,’ confirms Dave Galvin, Card Connection’s Senior Business Development Manager. ‘Not only did he achieve the highest turnover of all our 105 franchisees, but Joe has increased the size of his business by 6% in the past 12 months and early indications show he is already on track to beat this in 2006.’
A Card Connection franchisee since 1999, Joe has grown his operation from zero into a £150k business in just six years. He now sells around 30,000 greetings cards per month on a consignment basis through more than 200 retail outlets in his region.
Joe states the scale of his success is due to ‘a great product, most importantly backed up by consistent and reliable service,’ which he provides with the help of his son and two merchandisers.
In addition to managing his own territory so successfully, ‘Joe is also a real team player,’ continues Galvin. ‘He is a key member of our Franchise Liaison Group and always finds the time to motivate and mentor his fellow franchisees.
‘Joe is a real inspiration not only to all those at Card Connection but to everyone in the franchise business,’ he concludes.
