FRENCH teahouse operator Bakerzin plans to open seven more branches over the next five years at a combined investment cost of some RM7 million (RM1 million for each outlet).
Singapore-based Bakerzin at present owns two outlets in the Klang Valley and its master franchise holder in Malaysia is Billion Berg Sdn Bhd.
Billion Berg executive director Siti Yuhaniz Datuk Bustari said out of the seven outlets, one each will be opened in Penang and Kuching.
“The other five outlets will either be owned by the company or franchised out,” Siti Yuhaniz told reporters after the launch of its second outlet in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, yesterday.
The outlet was earlier launched by Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Mohd Shafie Apdal.
Siti Yuhaniz said the food operator is also eyeing for an outlet at the Suria Kuala Lumpur City Centre, which has a tenancy occupancy of 100 per cent.
Bakerzin also has four outlets in Singapore, four in Jakarta and two in Bangkok.
Since its first opening in Bangsar Village in November 2004, the teahouse specialising in French breads, cakes and pastries has served 200,000 customers with over 120 types of food.
