Orlando, FL – A complaint commonly voiced by Orlando’s residents and businesses is the lack of local computer technicians who are mature and highly experienced. Recognizing this need, computer pro Patrick Van Cleef turned his 16 years of high-tech mastery into the cornerstone of a new Geeks On Call franchise. Operating in the Orlando suburbs, Van Cleef drives the signature blue Geeks On Call PT Cruiser to hand-deliver a wide range of computer services to homes and businesses alike.
“Computers have become a vital part of everyday life here in Orlando—especially for home-based or small businesses, said Van Cleef. “With so much irreplaceable data on their computers, it makes sense that people only want to trust technicians who are highly experienced.

Van Cleef began his information-technology career in 1990 with the St. Johns River Water Management District in Palatka, Florida, for which he worked as a manager of geographic information systems. The rich experience he gained during those four years enabled him to find quick success in his next job as a high-tech consultant.
In the latter half of the 1990s, Van Cleef transitioned into the field of computer security and went to work for the American Automobile Association as a security analyst. Five years later he joined Sun Microsystems as a post-sales engineer, which was a position that enabled him to draw upon the multiple areas of technical knowledge he had accumulated. He was with the company until 2005, at which point the entrepreneurial bug bit him and he decided to go into business for himself as a Geeks On Call franchise owner.
