The company, which uses the name of the largest football player in the world, is talking to investors in the Arab country and in Germany. There is a possibility that a gym, which will work as a franchise, will be open in one of the Arab countries up to the end of this year. Pelé Club already has two units in Brazil.

São Paulo – Pelé Club, which has the rights to use the image of former Brazilian football player Edson Arantes do Nascimento for the gym sector, may open a gym in the United Arab Emirates this year. The company is talking to investors in the Arab country and also in Germany who may be interested in opening brand franchises. “The Emirates and Germany are the two countries where there is a more latent interest,” stated the Marketing manager at Pelé Club, Maurício Duarte.

“Pelé is a very well known and respected person in the Arab countries,” stated Duarte. The Arabs are great admirers of Brazilian football and of players in the country. Various athletes from Brazil are operating in clubs in the region. Pelé travelled to Doha in November last year to participate in a conference that marked the inauguration of Aspire, the largest sports gymnasium in Qatar. “The reception was impressive, he is an idol there,” stated Duarte, who accompanied the visit. The executive also spoke to businessmen in Qatar interested in opening franchises of Pelé Club.
