Edmonton Sun:

Booster Juice has squeezed into yet another state south of the border.

By the time you read this, the company will have three new stores in Arizona.

Several more stores in California and Manhattan are in the works. By the end of the year, Booster Juice will have 20 locations across the U.S.

Company president and CEO Dale Wishewan is riding the wave of success all the way to the bank.

“In a perfect world, it would be nice down the road to have a store in every single state. But we’re more focused on going into the more high-profile cities,” he said. One of the seven California stores is in ritzy Orange County.

Wishewan, a former engineer who attended Portland State University on a baseball scholarship, opened his first store with friend and business partner John Amack in Sherwood Park in 1999, using $350,000 in seed money.

The concept – fresh juices, smoothies and an option to “boost” each drink with herbal supplements – became an instant success, he said.
