ATLANTA-BASED fast-food chain Church’s Chicken launched Friday its first Philippine outlet, which it said would be the springboard of its expansion in Asia and worldwide.
Al Ryan, vice president for international operations, said the store at the SM Mall of Asia, in the Manila Bay reclaimed land area, was Church’s first in Asia outside of the Middle East.
“We have been on the lookout for opportunities and we found a very suitable partner here in the Philippines first,? Ryan said.
Wow Foods Corp. signed a franchise agreement in November.
George Fong, Wow Foods president, said two more outlets would open in August, in Manila’s Alabang suburb and in Quezon City.
Fong said the agreement with Church’s Chicken allowed sub-franchising.
