DISTRIBUTION Unlimited, the Edinburgh-based leaflet distribution firm, is launching its business format throughout the UK through a franchise formula.
The company said the move would help establish a national sales team that could compete for business from big companies with offices across the country. Derek Wilson, the founder and director of the company, believes hundreds of new jobs could be created over the next few years as cities across Britain take up the firm’s “demographic mapping and distribution” concept.
And Mr Wilson believes many of Britain’s larger city regions could comfortably accommodate three franchises.
Take-up of the DU concept could see the group’s income soar, as each franchise will be priced at £28,000, with DU also earning a ten per cent management fee every year from each franchisee.
Mr Wilson, who established the Leith-based company in 1992 after spotting a gap in the market for “professional, reliable and targeted leaflet and marketing distribution” in and around Edinburgh, believes that each franchisee could earn upwards of £80,000 a year after three years.
And he is in no doubt that the DU concept is a winner.
