Dollar Thrifty Buys Out Franchisee

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc., operator of Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental, said Thursday it bought a franchise operation in Phoenix.

The acquisition includes a Thrifty Car Rental franchise at Sky Harbor International Airport, plus two local-market locations and adds about 1,400 cars to the company’s corporate fleet.

Cholla Holdings LLC sold the operations to Dollar Thrifty. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Shares of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group rose 21 cents to $42.66 during morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
