Australia’s only publicly-listed pizza company Domino’s Pizza Australia New Zealand Ltd will be ordering one with the lot, perhaps with a dash of brie or camembert, in celebration of its 600th store opening last week in France.
With the unveiling of a store in Tours, the historic French city nestled in the picturesque Loire Valley, the Australian and New Zealand branch of the pizza brand cemented its position as the world’s largest franchisee for Domino’s.
The opening of three other outlets since Tours brings the company’s total stores number to 603 – and a continued foray into the growth market of Europe has been flagged by Domino’s Pizza Australia New Zealand chief executive Don Meij.
Domino’s Pizza Australia New Zealand is the master franchisee for the brand in Australia, New Zealand, France, the Netherlands and Belgium.
The company now operates 387 stores in Australia, 58 in New Zealand, 93 in France, 62 in the Netherlands and three in neighbour Belgium.
“While expansion in Australia continues, particularly in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, we are also moving to embrace opportunities in New Zealand and Europe,” Mr Meij said.
