PODS Buys Back Sarasota Franchise

PODS Enterprises Inc. has purchased the Sarasota territory from its franchisee. Sarasota was PODS’ first franchise sold.No terms of the deal were disclosed.

The purchase is part of the company’s strategy to buy back franchises and expand the number of corporate-owned locations, Sue Green, spokeswoman, said.

The geographic servicing area includes Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice and all Charlotte Counties. It becomes the 11th company-owned location in a network of more than 151 locations in 46 states across the country.

Portable storage company PODS recently began an international expansion and now have franchise locations in both Canada and Australia. There are more than 110,000 PODS containers in service today, and PODS has completed more than 87,000 inter-franchise relocations.
