
MasterCard is testing its PayPass payment technology on a low-end prepaid cell phone in an effort to help push contactless payment options forward in the U.S.
‘Consumers can generally find their cellphone and present it to make a payment much quicker than they can take their wallet out and get their credit card and make a payment,’ said Oliver Steeley, vice president in the Mobile/Wireless Center of Excellence at MasterCard.
The credit card company is teaming with 7-Eleven to conduct the Dallas-based trial. Check it out!
