Bounce Houses Cause Spring In Kids’ Steps

One bleak and rainy day, Evan Harrison celebrated his 3rd birthday.

The toddler didn’t seem to have the blues, nor did he complain about the weather as one might at the sight of stormy skies on his special day.

Instead, he laughed with his friends last week, and celebrated at Pump It Up, an indoor inflatable playground in Belmont, featuring different types of bounce houses.

‘I knew it would be rainy,’ said Michelle Harrison, Evan’s mom. ‘The kids love it, and the (bounce house) gives them a good exercise. What else can you do with them for an hour?’

Pump It Up opened Nov. 11 on Elmer Street and is already busy, said co-owner Swati Gupta.

Gupta and her husband Naveen have opened a popular franchise that features 14-foot-high inflatable slides, an ultimate obstacle course, and a basketball bouncer. Continued…
