NORFOLK, VA – These days, the sight of computer geeks making house calls is commonplace. But that wasn’t always the case. Not long ago, the concept of mobile, on-site computer support was largely unknown. However, this changed when industry pioneers like Geeks On Call reinvented computer geeks as the superheroes of today’s digital world.

Sure enough, the rapid success of Geeks On Call and its fellow pioneers spawned countless imitators, most of whom eagerly inserted the word “geek? into their company names in an effort to ride the coattails of their high-tech forefathers. As a result, customers became confused about how to contact the genuine Geeks On Call.

To cut through this clutter and rise above the sea of sameness, Geeks On Call has refocused and simplified its national brand. Part of this process involved the hiring of Atlanta-based multi-media marketing and consulting firm InovaOne (www.inovaone.com) to bring a fresh perspective from creative minds outside of the technology industry.

According to the Geeks’ Director of Marketing, Jim Jensen, this refocusing was necessary because “customers have been bombarded with geek-related messages to the point that they don’t know who to call anymore. By focusing solely on our 800-number, our message becomes clear: when you need reliable, same-day computer services, just remember 1 800 905 GEEK.?

Going forward, all of the company’s television and radio advertisements, billboards, and marketing messages will emphasize the phone number. In addition, communications and materials have been developed for the business sector that emphasize the advanced skills of the 1 800 905 GEEK technicians, all of whom are industry certified, with many holding high-end degrees and certifications like the MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer). Furthermore, each technician is put through a rigorous six-step screening process before being allowed to service customers.
