A father and son team are set to benefit from their new Ovenu professional oven valeting franchise after negotiating a successful resale.
Rob, 23, and his father Stan, 52, have purchased the franchise for the Poole area on the South Coast from their Ovenu network colleague Chris Brown, who is focussing on developing his core franchise area in Bournemouth.
After a short career as a stores manager for an electrical wholesaler, Rob has chosen franchising as the best way for him to become his own boss on the advice of his father, Stan.
Stan previously managed franchises for Dairy Crest and latterly Unigate, where he developed excellent business management experience, which will benefit his son’s development of his Ovenu franchise.
Rob will be supported by Stan who will look after the administration and marketing of the business. Rob will focus on building relationships with his customers across the local area.
Purchasing a resale franchise area is already paying dividends for Rob as he has inherited a customer base of around 600 households, many of which are repeat customers and referrals.
Stan’s knowledge of franchising was instrumental in choosing Ovenu. He researched the opportunities available and focussed on finding a niche service that was also popular across the UK.
Ovenu’s environmentally-friendly service has attracted over 100,000 customers across the UK and its franchise model has been replicated in Europe, Australia and the United States.
Since 1994 Ovenu’s UK-wide network of 100 franchisees have cleaned more than one million ovens, microwaves, and barbeques.
Its valeting service involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan and shelves and placing them into design-registered equipment, which uses non-caustic products to clean the oven parts.
The whole process takes around three hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition.
