Hard Rock Deal Is Landmark For Seminole Tribe

This week’s announcement of the Seminole tribe’s $965 million deal to acquire the Hard Rock Cafe restaurant and casino chain marks a milestone for the tribe, which lived largely in poverty only a generation ago.

The tribe is credited with pioneering the Indian gaming industry that is estimated to bring in as much as $900 million in 2006 earnings, before interest and expenses.
