Today womens fitness centers are going out of business all around us. In my area all but 2 are still remaining. This is because out of 12% of the population women make up 60% of all co-ed club membership. Leaving very few for womens only. So doing the math. if we had 360 million women in the U.S. who exercised which we do not only $459 thousand would belong to a club, since 60% would rather go to a co ed club it leaves 259 thousand women. Of that number many are not consistant. Now the media would tell you different but this is the fact. Womens only clubs have never made it alone. Elaine Powers, Vick Tanny and many more Multi Million dollar club went belly up in the 80's and 90's now we repeat the trend with a failure rate so high that womens only clubs fail quicker than anyother club concept period. If you want to make money stay far away from womens only. Trust me I know. Co ed is the way to go. What seems to be working are the womens only 24 hr clubs. but keep them small.
