Julie Burleson and Suzy Nettles, founders of YCA,
are 2 moms who love cooking, love children, and love a good time in the kitchen! Since YCA’s founding in April of 2003, the school has grown from a weekend-only operation, conducting classes and parties out of a restaurant, to a full-time school operating out of its own storefront.
At Young Chefs⢠Academy, Julie and Suzy teach culinary skills that build upon each other to progress into more complicated food preparation. While learning such skills is the main ingredient at YCA, they add a heap of kitchen safety, a scoop of etiquette, a handful of napkin folding and table setting, a pinch of menu planning, and laughter to taste. Their kid-friendly kitchen classroom also provides a “real” setting so that the students can use what they learn in their own homes.
It’s a hot opportunity as the popularity of kid-focused stores and services grows, you can bet the children’s franchise biz is a promising place to play. Here is how they make money.

Is it really as good an opportunity as you think? Look at what some franchise owners have to say about it. http://www.franchisespeak.com/young-chefs-academy-discussion

Hi, I have been trying to contact Christina Reeves at the 1668 Buford Hwy Cumming Ga 30041. I had signed my daughter up for the Spring Survival class with one of her friends and Christina called to let me know they were cloaing but she would refund my $40 and it still has not happened. I need to know how to get my refund please.

There have been about 50 closings in the past year from what I have heard. You may not be able to get your money back. I know someone who contacted the franchisor and even they refused to reimburse customers who have lost money with these closings. Seems the business is not doing too well.
