Holiday Procrastinators Turn To Convenience Stores

Several convenience chains, including 7-Eleven, have been stocking up on electronics and toys for last-minute holiday shoppers searching for a haven from the mall.

NFL shirts, toy trucks, giant candy bars, CDs and Harley-Davidson Santa Claus toys are among the hot sellers shoppers are snapping up this holiday season.

‘The idea of not having to slog it out in a mall, but buy all your holiday gifts about as quickly as a fill-up, is a trend you are seeing,’ says Jeff Lenard, spokesman for the National Association of Convenience Stores.
