California Pizza Kitchen will open its first ASAP restaurant in Hawai’i next month as it expands the concept nationwide.

The California Pizza Kitchen ASAP location is scheduled to open on Jan. 22 at the Kailua Town Center and will feature a menu that’s similar to the company’s four full-service restaurants on O’ahu.

While offering a smaller assortment of pizza, the “fast casual” restaurant will have a 14-inch-diameter pizza not found in its full-service locations, while having expanded lines of sandwiches and soups. The 2,700-square-foot location next to Macy’s on Kailua Road will have indoor and outdoor seating.

Los Angeles-based California Pizza Kitchen is expanding the number of ASAP restaurants it owns and operates. It now operates eight of the company-owned ASAP locations, with another 16 franchise operations primarily in airports.
