BRISBANE, Australia Dominos Pizza Enterprises Limited (formerly known as Dominos Pizza Australia and New Zealand) has bolstered its international expansion drive with the purchase of two European pizza chains, Al Capones and Alvolo on Jan. 1.
According to a news release, Alvolo is an eight-store chain in Belgium, and Al Capones operates 17 stores in the Netherlands. Both deals were fully funded from debt for an undisclosed price.
The purchases are part of DPEs plans to expand its operations in France, Belgium and the Netherlands, where it bought more than 150 corporate-owned Dominos outlets last year. The franchise groups goal is to have 1,000 units there by 2015.
The majority of Al Capones and Alvolo outlets are expected to be converted to Dominos Pizza stores over the next six months.
