TOKYO — McDonald’s Holdings Co (Japan) said Wednesday that sales in 2006 set a record high at 441.5 billion yen. The operator of 3,828 hamburger restaurants attributed the record sales to its policy of offering low-priced dishes and introducing around-the-clock services.
But the company also said its policy of limiting profit margins on items such as the 100-yen Mac proved a drag on its profitability.
