The Economic Times:

French fashion apparel company Etam Developpement is forming a joint venture with Pantaloon-owned Indus League Clothing for single brand retailing of its women’s fashion brand Etam.

Etam, a $900-million brand which is engaged in ready-to-wear apparel, lingerie and accessories, operates through a network of sales outlets in Europe apart from an international franchisee network. It is the 1st international brand to join hands with a large retail group in India.

Etam would join the line of other global consumer and luxury products groups who have formed similar joint ventures in India, including LVMH, Lladro and Ermenegildo Zegna. The early birds have joined hands with small retailers as local partners to confirm with the foreign investment norms for retailing.
