Biz Journals:

Chyten Educational Services announced Tuesday it has partnered with Minuteman Press, through its franchising division, Ultra Franchising Inc., to grow its franchising business.

The partnership, formed a month ago, combines Chyten’s educational services with Minuteman’s franchising expertise to grow Chyten in other markets. Under the agreement, New York-based Minuteman Press International Inc. will receive less than 50 percent of the $37,500 franchising fee and less than 50 percent of the royalties, according to Neil Chyten, president of Chyten Educational Services.

There are no franchise agreements signed to date, said Chyten.

Chyten owns and operates five tutoring centers in the Bay State and employs seven people full-time and about 70 full- and part-time tutors. Each center averages $600,000 in annual revenues, said Chyten.

“Our goal is to become the largest education company in the country,” said Chyten.
