Chris DeCapri hopes to see dozens of Bottoms Up Pizza locations along the East Coast someday soon. “This is exciting news,” said DeCapri, a local jewelry retailer who also is president of Bottoms Up Development LLC, the company that is starting to market franchising opportunities for the popular gourmet pizza restaurant. The group is focusing on selling franchising rights throughout the Southeast, initially in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
“We’ve already gotten calls from people in Florida who are interested,” DeCapri said.
Virginia will be a key state for selling franchises, he said, specifically in the Richmond area and in Charlottesville and Williamsburg. “The closer to Richmond you are, the more instant name recognition you have,” he said.
