Nadra Plans To Franchise Kiosks

KARACHI: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), in a bid to expand its utility bills payment network and provide business opportunities to the citizens, is franchising its kiosks, a press release disclosed on Friday.

The Nadra will provide the kiosk machines against a reasonable security with operational and maintenance support.

The plan will help the authority in outsourcing and expanding its kiosk operations. The franchise of kiosk is being offered to young educated youth as well as small businessmen in Karachi, Hyderabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Besides all those small entrepreneurs running a store or shop where sufficient and suitable space is available to install Nadra kiosk, are also eligible to apply for a kiosk.

The kiosks are gaining popularity among the masses for the other modes of utility bills payment are either time consuming or out of the reach of the common man. The machines provide a user friendly interface with maximum graphics that enable even a layman to use the system.

The system accepts cash, which is predominantly used by the low income group. The application forms for kiosk franchise will be available at the Nadra regional headquarters from March 13 and can also be downloaded from its website www.nadra.gov.pk, the press release said.
