The Columbus Dispatch:

Forget the 20-minute workout. At the new Gold’s Gym in Hilliard, the 2-hour exercise routine could become the next fitness craze.

That’s because Gold’s Gym has what no other local fitness center has: a cardio cinema room. It’s a darkened cavern with three dozen exercise machines, a 20-foot video screen and a DVD player equipped with surround sound.

Gold’s customers can check in at the beginning of, say, Mission Impossible III and exercise until the closing credits roll.

The semi-sequestered space isn’t reflective of the rest of the 58,000-square-foot building at a strip center off Rome-Hilliard Road. Most of it is spacious and airy, with a lot of natural light.

‘We try to make sure everything is as open as possible, but you still have a few places to hide,’ said Sean Phillips, vice president of sales for Global Fitness Holdings, the Lexington, Ky., franchisee that plans to build several Gold’s Gyms in central Ohio.
