If the franchise holder has his way, Hooters should be breaking ground in metro in the next three months.
Andre LeBlanc of Hamilton Wing Ltd. said yesterday he would be “very disappointed” if the restaurant - famed for its busty servers in skimpy outfits - isn’t under construction in that timeframe.
Hamilton Wing holds the Hooters franchise rights for all of the Maritime provinces. The company is looking at setting up five to six restaurants over the next four or five years, with one or possibly two for HRM.
LeBlanc said the company will start with Halifax and possibly add Dartmouth.
“We’re forging ahead right now. We’re in talks with potential franchisees, potential partners. There’s a tonne of interest and we’re really excited about it.
