IFA:
Nearly 800 Veteran-Franchisees and Growing
Taking advantage of the financial incentives offered by participating companies, veterans, by mid 2007, had acquired nearly 800 franchises through the VetFran program and more than 200 were in various stages of negotiation.
The IFA recently celebrated the purchase of the 700th VetFran franchise during the opening ceremony of the 16th annual International Franchise Expo in Washington, D.C. Highlighting the event was an appearance by the U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Jim Nicholson, who recognized former Marine Alan Martinez who had acquired a Virginia Barbecue restaurant franchise using the financial incentives offered by the company.
