Brooke Insurance Franchisee Acquires Six Offices

Oklahoma City native Braden Garrett has acquired 6 metro-area insurance agencies under the umbrella of the Kansas-based Brooke Franchise Corp.

Garrett said he will operate the 6 offices under the name Brooke Insurance & Financial Services of OKC.

The process to acquire the offices owned by ABIA and the Mark Stewart Insurance Agency have been in the works for more than a year.

Garrett said he came into the picture after Brooke’s corporate arm was looking to place someone in the Oklahoma City market. At the time he was working for the company in Kansas City.

‘They go out and find acquisition targets,’ Garrett said. ‘When they find an acquisition target they immediately begin to look for a Brooke agent that might be a good fit.’

Garrett personally invested several million dollars in the acquisition of the Oklahoma City-area agencies and leases each office’s individual space.

The 6 offices, which will function as independent agencies, will together employ about 15 people.

Brooke Insurance is an independently owned and operated franchise of Brooke Franchise Corp., based in Overland Park, Kan. The Brooke network has more than 700 offices nationwide.
