Undergarments manufacturer Caely Holdings Bhd has forecast sales to increase to RM12 million this year from RM9 million in 2006 with its nationwide franchise expansion plans, group managing director Alan Chuah said Tuesday.
He said the company was looking to appoint many distributors and franchisees to grow not only its own “Caelygirl” brand of lingerie, but also lingerie products of the Japanese “Hello Kitty” brand after securing the local distribution rights.
“We have been in the market for 21 years and are strong enough to franchise the business,” he told reporters after introducing the “Hello Kitty” brand of lingerie here.
He expects local sales to grow to 20 percent this year with the remainder from overseas contribution.
Chuah said Caely was currently present in 23 countries, including the United States which has been the company’s major revenue contributor, Canada and Europe as well as China, where it has a 51 percent stake in an undergarment factory in Quanchung.
“We are targeting to expand business to other Asian countries such as Vietnam and India,” he said.
