The national database and registration authority (NADRA) has received 372 applications in the second phase of its kiosk-franchising project.
A press release said that in the second phase, the NADRA had invited applications from all over the country and received an overwhelming response.
The application received in the second phase are 24 from Karachi, 35 from Sargodha, 70 from Multan, 60 from Lahore, 31 from Sukkur, 90 from Peshawar, 32 from Quetta and 30 from Islamabad.
As many as 100 kiosk has already been franchised in the initial round launched on March 9, 2007 in five cities including Rawalpindi/Islamabad. Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad, the release said.
