California Pizza Kitchen Inc., the gourmet pizza chain operator, said it opened its first restaurant in Mexico on Tuesday.
The restaurant, located in a Mexico City mall, was opened by franchisee Grupo Calpik S.A. de C.V. In February, the two companies announced plans to open 15 restaurants in the country over the next 10 years.
There are 215 California Pizza Kitchen restaurants in the United States. All but 32 are owned by the company.
