Baskin-Robbins To Open 40 Birmingham-Area Stores

After a five-year absence in the area, Baskin-Robbins said it plans to expand into Birmingham again, with 40 locations in the area and 88 in the state.

The ice cream retailer said it will open its first store by spring 2008. The new locations will be opened by 14 new franchisees and 30 franchisees that will be chosen after a franchisee open house in Birmingham next week.

According to its Web site, Baskin-Robbins has more than 5,600 retail shops in 40 countries.
