Friday’s Franchisee Files For Bankruptcy

A franchisee operating 14 T.G.I. Friday’s restaurants in Florida, including four in Palm Beach County, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of Florida.

The four Friday’s eateries remain open in Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach, Royal Palm Beach and suburban Boca Raton.

James Cosentino, the franchisee who is a New York businessman, also filed bankruptcy for four New York eateries and a restaurant management company. Cosentino is the first franchisee in T.G.I. Friday’s more than 40-year history to file for bankruptcy, Texas-based T.G.I. Friday’s said in a statement.
