AFC Enterprises Inc. overcame negative same-store sales to record a 29 percent jump in second-quarter profit.
The Atlanta-based owner, operator and franchiser of Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits posted net income of $6.6 million on $38.3 million in revenue, compared with net income of $5.1 million on $34.4 million in revenue in the second quarter of 2006.
Earnings were 22 cents a share, compared with earnings of 17 cents a share in the second quarter of 2006.
