The franchising business is still fighting for position on the Czech market, but its potential for growth is exceptional, says Ivo Lamich, president of the Czech Franchise Association (ČAF).

Ivo Lamich, 40, was elected president of the Czech Franchise Association (ČAF) in 2005. Although he is actively engaged in the work of the ČAF, he is employed as a member of the management team at the Czech franchise of fast food chain McDonald‘s Corporation. Lamich has worked in a variety of positions at McDonald‘s ČR since 1992 and demonstrates his loyalty to the company by eating at least one of its products on a daily basis.

The ČAF was established in 1993 with a mission to introduce the concept of franchising to the Czech Republic and explain its advantages to potential franchisors and franchisees. The association now cooperates closely with like-minded international organizations to spread its message. ČAF also aims to promote ethical franchising practice in the Czech Republic in accordance with the European Code of Ethics for Franchising and to help the industry develop credibility, influence and favorable circumstances for growth.
