Big foreign fast-food companies are opening more restaurants in Vietnam, while some others are planning to penetrate into the 85-million people market, local newspaper Youth reported Thursday.
The United States’ KFC will increase its chicken restaurants in Vietnam to 100 in the next three years from current 38. It has already made profits after eight years of operation in the country.
Another U.S. firm, Pizza Hut, is expected to have 20 restaurants in Vietnam, mainly in southern Ho Chi Minh City by 2010. It has invested some one million U.S. dollars in establishing its two first pizza restaurants in the country.
