Panera Reports 3% Comps Increase

Panera Bread Company on Sept. 5 reported systemwide comparable bakery-cafe sales increased 3.1 percent for the five weeks ended Aug. 28, 2007.

Comps at company-owned locations increased 4.1 percent during the five-week period. Year-to-date, comps increased 1.6 percent at company-owned stores. For franchise-operated locations, same-store sales increased 2.5 percent for the five-week period. Year-to-date, comps increased 1.7 percent.
