The simple gesture of giving a wounded veteran a helping hand toward a new career that grew into a national program putting Iraq vets into their own pizza shops earned Little Caesars founder Mike Ilitch a special award Monday.
Ilitch received the highest civilian honor from the Department of Veterans Affairs — the Secretary’s Award — at a ceremony inside the agency’s headquarters.
