Franchising: Sweet Success For Secret Recipe

Secret Recipe Cakes and Cafe Sdn Bhd has been so overwhelmed by applications from aspiring franchisees wanting to operate the Secret Recipe Cafe that it has decided to temporarily close the invitation.

The company, however, said its offer for franchisees to open outlets under a new concept cafe, called ZEN, remains.

‘In one day, I receive between eight and 10 new applications to be Secret Recipe franchisees,’ chief executive officer, Datuk Steven Sim (photo) said. There is also increasing response from abroad for master franchisees, such as from Europe and the US,’ he told Business Times in Kuala Lumpur.
