Marrybrown Fried Chicken Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s largest home-grown fast food chain, plans to open more outlets throughout the country and overseas.
Co-founder and group managing director Nancy Liew said the company still sees plenty of room to grow in the local fast-food market through franchising.It plans to open 20 new outlets in Malaysia this year.
The Johor Baru-based company is also stepping up its international expansion, with a focus on Middle Eastern countries, including Lebanon, Jordan, Oman, Morocco and Egypt.
Currently, it has a presence in 11 countries, namely China, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Syria and Iran.
The fast-food chain opened its first overseas outlet in China in 1992.
