Pat LaFontaine (photo) is adding star power to a Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee with expansion plans in the Buffalo area.
The former Buffalo Sabres standout has become an investor in Kainos Partners, a Long Island-based franchisee planning to open at least 40 area Dunkin’ Donuts stores. The company has opened nearly a dozen so far.
LaFontaine will visit 3 area stores today to greet fans and sign autographs, starting at 9:30 a.m. at a store at Main and Bailey, across from the University at Buffalo’s South Campus.
LaFontaine said he relished the chance to get involved in a business venture with ties to Buffalo, recalling the good times he and his family enjoyed while he was a Sabre from 1991 to 1997.
‘We still hold Buffalo dear to ourselves,’ LaFontaine said. ‘We had a great chapter in our lives there. It’s great to come back in that fashion.’ More.
