McDdonald’s Franchisee Sued Over Disabilities Act Allegation

A former employee of a McDonald’s in Albany, N.Y., filed a lawsuit Tuesday, alleging the restaurant discriminated against her and violated provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the lawsuit, Gladys Jones was hired in July 2005, along with a job coach who would assist her in her work. Jones has a developmental disability ‘which substantially limits her major life activities, among others, of learning, thinking and caring for herself,’ says the lawsuit, which was filed in the U.S. District Court for New York’s Northern District.

Up to this point, the restaurant, located at 1814 Central Ave., had complied with the Americans with Disabilities Act, which requires that Jones would be given ‘reasonable accommodation,’ according to the lawsuit…
