Brooke Franchise Will Buy 60 Insurance Agency Locations

Brooke Franchise Corp. has agreed to buy 60 insurance agency locations, including four in the Kansas City area, from companies related to J and P Holdings Inc.

The agency locations are in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Texas and Illinois, Overland Park-based Brooke Corp.

Brooke Franchise’s parent, said in a release Thursday. J and P Holdings is based in suburban Chicago.Financial terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed. The deal is expected to close on Friday.

The agencies sell auto insurance under the trade names Lone Star Auto, Insurance Xpress, Car Insurance Store, Hallberg Insurance Agency and Hallberg Xpress, Brooke Corp. said in the release.

Brooke Franchise Chairman and CEO Kyle Garst said in an interview that the acquired locations will be converted to Brooke Insurance franchises or merged into existing ones.
