BANKWEST has ruled out a rival bid for the franchise network of troubled non-bank lender RAMS Home Loans, saying it will remain focused on organic growth.
BankWest, owned by the Scottish bank HBOS, announced in July it would take on Australia’s “big four” banks by opening 160 new branches in eastern Australia over three years.
The first of those branches opened yesterday at a shopping mall in Parramatta. Seven more will open in NSW by the end of the year, mostly in outer Sydney.
