Businessmen Graeme Beere and Denis Desmond plan to open three more Yo! Sushi restaurants in Ireland by next year.

Beere, founder of the Abrakebabra chain, and Desmond, the owner of music promoter MCD, have the Irish franchise for the sushi chain.

It has just opened its first Irish outlet at Dundrum Town Centre and Beere said a second outlet would open at the Pavilions shopping centre in Swords in Dublin in November. An outlet is also planned for Belfast.

‘‘Between the south and the north, there will be at least four Yo! Sushis by 2008,” said Beere.

Yo! Sushi was founded in 1997 by Simon Woodroffe, a British entrepreneur who stars on the Dragons Den television programme.

There are now 36 Yo! Sushi restaurants in Britain and franchises in France, Greece, Dubai, Malaysia and Russia.
