Papa Murphy’s International plans to add 15 to 20 locations in central Ohio in the next three years, employing between 200 and 300 people part time.
The Washington state-based chain already has 14 stores in the Columbus area selling its take-and-bake pizzas, custom-made for customers to bake at home.
Papa Murphy’s caters to families who are “on the go with sports and events,” said Jim Werling, director of franchise sales. Columbus has “a lot of suburbs that support our business model,” he said.
The company is seeking franchisees for its expansion. It has more than 1,000 locations in 30 states and Canada and hopes to have 1,400 to 1,500 by 2010, Werling said.
