Stratus Building Solutions announced Monday it has entered the New Jersey market after awarding a master franchise to the Joy Community Development Corp. (JCDC) in South New Brunswick, N.J. Financial terms were not disclosed.

JCDC is affiliated with The Tabernacle, a non-denominational church in Piscataway, N.J., whose congregation works to create jobs in disadvantaged local communities and which raised funds to help acquire and operate the Stratus master franchise, according to a release. The franchise will be known as Stratus Building Solutions of Central New Jersey.

The St. Louis-based franchisor of retail, commercial and industrial building cleaning services now has franchises in 13 states since it was founded in 2004 by Dennis Jarrett and Pete Frese. Stratus had 2006 revenue of more than $4.5 million.
