A Jacksonville-based franchise group has bought the territory rights to develop Fish City Grill restaurants in North and Central Florida; Augusta and Savannah, Ga.; and Charleston, S.C.
Southern Hospitality Enterprises Inc. consists of four franchisees, three of whom are from Jacksonville and expects to open up to 10 restaurants in five years. The first one is scheduled to open in December in Ormond Beach and two more are planned for Jacksonville and Savannah next year.
Chris Banks, the vice president of operations for the franchisee group, has 15 years of restaurant experience, most recently as the general manager of a Fish City Grill in Dallas.
“There really is no other seafood restaurant that combines the high quality and uniqueness of the menu items with our cozy casual environment,” Banks said.
Dallas-based Neighborhood Ventures Inc. is the parent company of the 18 Fish City Grill locations in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Arkansas. Twelve are franchises and six are company-owned. Three more locations are planned for Texas and one for Louisiana.
