COOKIE-munching Indians have encouraged Mermaid Beach-based franchising group Allied Brands to explore an expansion of its newly acquired biscuit franchises across four continents.

Allied Brands, which owns the Baskin-Robbins master franchise for Australia, plans to launch its Cookie Man chain in at least three countries by the end of this financial year — about 12 months ahead of schedule.

The move comes just eight months after Allied Brands took control of the chain in a $5.8 million deal.

Cookie Man managing director Peter Elligett, who also sits on the Allied Brands board, said the company was fielding inquiries from Malaysia, Cyprus, Canada, England, Dubai, the UAE, Japan, Spain, Thailand and Russia to establish master franchises for the chain.
